The Free Aero Race 4 Bib Shorts are our top-of-the-line race shorts, which also means they're incredibly comfortable even if you never put a bib on them.

The very first Free Aero Race short was introduced over a decade ago and has logged literally millions of miles on the behinds of our sponsored pro riders. It is the best-selling short in both the Castelli collection and our custom Servizio Corse program. It has since been revisited and improved many times, the result of our relentless drive to create the best shorts possible. While the basic concept of a comfortable, minimalist pro-level race short remains, every fabric, component, seam, and construction method has been revisited and improved over time.

The fourth generation of these shorts features the new version of the Progetto X2 Air Seamless chamois. This chamois has a soft, stretchy layer next to your skin that hugs your body to adapt to your every move, separated by another generously padded layer that replicates the shape of your saddle. So eight-hour rides will be no problem.

The fabrics are of course of the highest quality, made to our specifications by the best fabric suppliers in Italy. The Forza fabric on the inner thigh is made of 38% Lycra® for a perfect fit and the Vortex fabric on the side panels is dimpled for aerodynamics. It also stays in place thanks to the latest version of our leg support band: the flat and seamless Giro.
