What equipment should I prepare for a short swimrun outing?


In order to make your outing as enjoyable as possible, we recommend that you equip yourself with 2 bags: a waterproof bag for swimming and a trail bag for the running session . This will allow you to feel maximum comfort during the running session, because open water swimming bags are not designed for running and you could be cut at the shoulders for example.

In your bag, bring water to keep you well hydrated during exercise as well as an energy bar or compote.

A fault or a current that is too strong? For the swimming session, always remember to take a lanyard with you ! For you or for another swimmer, it is always better to be able to pull or be pulled using the lanyard.

The pull buoy , the cap and the swimming goggles are the essential accessories for swimrun! You can wear a trisuit under your swim run wetsuit .

What equipment should I prepare for a long swimrun outing?


During a long outing , you will need more substantial equipment with you in order to be autonomous. To be able to achieve this autonomy, you will need a bag with a capacity of 25L, waterproof and inflatable . Opt for a bag with an IPX8 waterproof standard.

The waterproofness of the bag will allow you to keep your belongings dry and the inflatable property of the bag will allow you to have perfect hydrodynamics in the water: the bag will float and you will not feel any dead weight to pull!

In this bag, you will find safety items such as your mobile phone or a first aid kit with bandages, survival blanket, etc. that you can in turn slip into waterproof pouches: double security. In swimrun, you can never be too careful!

Then, to ensure your autonomy during the day, you can take with you a meal and a bottle of water in addition to your flasks for the effort and a spare swimrun wetsuit.

For the swimming parts, you equip yourself with a belt with different elastic attachment systems , on which you can attach your pull-buoy , your GoPro camera, etc. You will need different swimming paddles , which you can also slip into your bag.
