THE FIRST AERO JERSEY PROJECT WAS CALLED SPLIT SECOND When Castelli designed the first aero jersey for road racing in 2006, everyone thought we were crazy. Back then, aero was only for TTs. Performance clothing meant moisture management. And you could win the Tour de France in a baggy jersey that was little more than a polyester T-shirt. Even our aero consultants expected limited gains, so we named the jersey Split Second, although, as now, we believed that even small gains were worth pursuing. In the end, the gains were quite substantial and we completely revolutionized the look of the pro peloton. We are now on the sixth major revision of our aero jersey. Each generation has become more aerodynamic and better fitting. The Aero Race 6.0 benefits heavily from CFD analysis of the wake flow in the riding position for fabric and seam placement. It also benefits from feedback from professional riders as we worked to make the jersey comfortable for their long hours of training and then racing in all possible weather conditions. The 6.0 is our most aerodynamic and comfortable Aero Race jersey to date. But we’re already hard at work on the 6.1…
