Imagine a jacket so light and warm you forget you’re wearing it. The Fly Thermal W Jacket is exactly that jacket. From the inside out, we engineered this jacket to be incredibly lightweight and warm through Castelli FLY Fabric Technologies: FFT. First, we started with Gore-Tex Infinium Windstopper as the liner. Its unrivaled performance prevents wind from reaching your core to keep you warm, all while breathing and moving moisture from the inside out. Next, we found the lightest, warmest insulation, made with 100% recycled materials. CLIMA SL insulation doesn’t just provide thermal insulation, it also breathes. Finally, the FLY SL shell is also made from 100% recycled materials: it blocks wind and has a DWR treatment to protect you from light rain and road spray should you get caught out in a shower. We also added a packable hood to the jacket for extra warmth. It easily deploys when you need it with a hook and loop flap, whether the temperature drops or you’re taking a break on the ride. It fits perfectly under your helmet to block out any unwanted air. Like any good jacket, it’s completed with a YKK® Vislon® zipper, three rear pockets with plenty of storage as well as a fourth zippered valuables pocket, elastic with silicone grip at the bottom to keep the jacket in place, and reflective strips for added safety on the road. This is our next step in creating an environmentally friendly jacket that performs as you’d expect a Castelli jacket to perform.
