This year, getting feedback from Team Sky has meant going to Belgium, Nice, Manchester, and all over Italy, and doing Skype calls between races and training sessions. The feedback we get all the time from the pros is that their Free Bibshort (the same ones you could buy in 2018) are really great shorts. The only changes they asked for: a loop in the bib to hold the race radio mic and a chamois placed a little further back for a rider. And it’s not just Team Ineos who love them. The 2018 Free Aero Race Bibshorts are Castelli’s best-selling shorts of all time. That's why for the 2019 season, we decided to make some spectacular changes to it... It wasn't Team Sky or you who asked for these changes, but it's because we wore it a lot in training that we constantly thought about how to improve it. We gave it a new flat support band around the legs with a raw edge and now also vertical silicone bands that keep it in place, neither too stretchy nor too compressive. The new fabric offers better print quality, facilitates your customization needs, and matches the one that Team Ineos will use in 2019. We changed the seams to improve the fit and give you even more style. We redesigned the construction of the straps with new fabrics that keep your skin fresher and are also flatter and more resistant. The new Free 3 Aero Race Bib Shorts now feature the new seamless Progetto X2 chamois, featuring the softest surface fabric you'll ever have on a chamois. You'll be pleased to know that we don't live by the old adage: 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'.
