While carbon rims have a reputation for inconsistent performance when conditions are less than optimal, all Black Inc rim brake wheels perform exceptionally well in all situations. This is largely because we engineer the brake tracks of our rims with special carbon layers and heat transfer resin, but much of the braking magic happens thanks to the properties of our carbon brake pads. The interaction between the pad and brake track keeps heat build-up to a minimum, allowing the rider to tackle a long, twisty descent with confidence, knowing that the rims won’t overheat. Similarly, when riding in the wet, the unique, specially shaped rubber compound grips the rim with measured force, so smooth braking is still possible when entering corners in the wet.

Using brake pads from another brand will not only reduce braking efficiency, but will immediately and effectively void any warranty protection, as not all pads and rims are created equal for all types of rim brake surfaces.
